The ESDIS project is in the process of gathering and registered Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) for products supported by EOSDIS.  Currently only data products supported by NASA are registered.

The ESDIS project uses EZID (http://n2t.net/ezid) to register DOIs for EOSDIS earth data projects.  The DOIs assigned are listed by instrument/campaign here on the Earthdata Collaboration Environment.

This space on the Earthdata Wiki is meant to describe the ESDIS DOI process and provide guidance for registering and reserving DOIs.

The space is organized as follows:

DOI Background Information - Provides background information on what a DOI is and how it is used.

ESDIS DOI Process - Describes the policies and process for assigng DOIs

DOI Submission Process - Contains the DOI Submission Form and explanation on the types of submission.

DOI Landing Page - Guidelines and recommendations on what a product landing page should look like and what information it should contain.

Contact Information - Contact information for ESDIS personnel.

EOSDIS DOIs Status and Listing - DOIs registered and reserved by ESDIS by campaign/missions.  Also contains current metrics.

DOI Documents - Documents related to DOIs.

ESDSWG Recommendations - Recommendations by the DOI WG (subgroup of the ESDSWG) and responses by the ESDIS project.
