About the National Center for Atmospheric Research (NCAR):

There are three separate campuses. Center Green (CG), Foothills Lab (FL) and Mesa Lab (ML). Our meetings will be at the iconic Mesa Lab in the Damon Room. NCAR is the government lab, funded by the NSF. The University Corporation for Atmospheric Research (UCAR) is the nonprofit that is contracted to run and staff NCAR. Most people at NCAR are employed by UCAR. Now you know. The Mesa Lab is nestled in the hills on the SW corner of town. Foothills Lab and Center Green are close to each other on the NE corner of town.

Getting to and from the meeting

There is a shuttle that runs up to Mesa Lab, however it is not large and there wouldn’t be room for everybody in it. You can catch it right across the street from the EMBASSY SUITES HOTEL 2601 Canyon Boulevard, Boulder,. It is a van labeled “UCAR shuttle”. There is a low white wall just south of the Burger King at 28th & Canyon. That’s where the shuttle will pick you up and drop you off. The two pickup times that will get you up to the Mesa in time for the meeting are at 7:43 and 8:13 (arriving at 8:02 and 8:32 respectively). Confirm with the driver that s/he is going to the ML or you might end up at FL by mistake since this is the shuttle stop for both directions.

The Shuttle schedule can be found here: https://operations.ucar.edu/fms/transportation/shuttle-schedule
