The UWG made recommendations regarding the data, documentation (the ATBDs, historic information etc.), and new website of OB.DAAC. Specific recommendations from the meeting include:
Data (Ocean color and SeaBASS in situ)
- Link data to the mission products’ validation figures to allow users to play around and produce their own figures.
- Concerns: Users find it difficult to access some documents, such as the satellite products’ validation for particular regions.
- Responses: Some information was lost in the history, and it is important to have them available.
- VIIRS JPSS2 data is not on CMR.
- Response: The files are there, but the mission has not been added to the tabs.
- MODIS_Aqua L1 data is still in old name format.
- Response: It is true, since the reprocessing is on L2/L3.
Website
- Add GLIMR page.
- Make the website phone friendly.
- Find a home for ATBDs and documentations on the new website.
- Response: The ATBDs will ultimately go to APT, where PIs will maintain their algorithms. The future ATBDs will be accessible and user friendly.
- On new website, “Use Data” page, “Mission Quality Monitor” should at the bottom
