Subject: | CMR To Retire ECHO Tokens for Ingest and Search Operations |
What's Happening: | To facilitate the planned retirement of CMR's Legacy Services codebase, the CMR is phasing out its support of ECHO tokens for all operations. Currently, ECHO tokens can be used to authenticate and authorize requested operations submitted to the CMR by users and clients. Once ECHO tokens are retired, users and clients will be required to use Launchpad or Earthdata Login (EDL) tokens when sending requests to the CMR. |

Timeline: | To avoid disruption of CMR operations, users and clients should migrate away from using ECHO tokens no later than March 2023. |
Who Is Affected: | All users and clients that currently use ECHO Tokens and/or the Echo-Token header. |
