The April meeting in Annapolis meeting is has been cancelled due to the ongoing coronavirus situation. We are looking into options for a virtual meeting so please keep the original meeting dates freevirtual meetings to replace some of our planned sessions and allow us to continue with ESDSWG activities until we can organize an in-person meeting later in the year.
More details about alternative arrangements to follow.
The 2020 Earth Science Data System Working Group Meeting will be held in Annapolis, MD from Tuesday April 14 - Thursday April 16. We will also be joined by members of the Citizen Science Data Working Group (CSDWG).
This is an important technical interchange meeting for all ESDSWG members. As in previous years, members of the current working groups will be asked to present their findings and recommendations for review by ESDIS and members of the ESDSWG community. The current working groups should plan to have their deliverables largely complete prior to the meeting. Sometime in January, we will start inviting proposals for new working groups and follow-on activities for some of the existing working groups. During the meeting, we will hold a series of breakout sessions to review the proposals and plan working group activities for 2020. A separate breakout track will be held for CSDWG.
The annual meeting is an important part of the ESDSWG planning and decision-making process and we encourage all ESDSWG members to attend. Unfortunately, due to the highly interactive nature of the technical review and planning sessions, we do not anticipate being able to offer a remote participation option for the meeting. Further information about the meeting, including a draft agenda, will be posted to the wiki as it becomes available.
